Platter Workshop
The workshop will cover the same information as the demonstration and each student will pick out a platter design and turn an 8” to 9” platter from Big Leaf Maple. A handout with the steps toward completing a platter and various platter designs will be provided. The emphasis is on beginners and their ability to successfully turn a platter during the workshop.
Workshop Tools Needed:
• ½” to 5/8” bowl gouge (optional)
• Round nose scrapper or negative rake scrapper (optional)
• Face shield (NOT optional)
Provided by the Club:
• Green or dry wood blanks of Big Leaf Maple cut to 9” rounds and about 2” thick
• All other tools
We set up an extra workshop from popular demand.
Due to unforeseen circumstances requiring Tom Henscheid to be out of town, this event has been moved to June 1st.
