About this event
In this workshop, Elizabeth will show how to turn a wider-rim platter featuring a graceful ogee profile. We’ll discuss the importance of form and how to achieve a clean, elegant ogee shape using your tools effectively. This workshop will also cover sharpening techniques to ensure that your tools are in prime condition for turning.
Material:
- 11” dia x 1.5-2” height platter blank in cherry, maple, or walnut (wood MUST BE DRY)
Tools:
- 3/8” (or ½”) bowl gouge
- Spindle Gouge
- Parting Tool
- Heavy Duty Round Nose or French Curve Scraper
- Bottom Bowl Gouge
- Faceshield
- N95 dust mask or any other equivalent
- Whatever you like to sand with
