Platter Workshop
The workshop will cover the same information as the demonstration and each student will pick out a platter design and turn an 8” to 9” platter from Big Leaf Maple. A handout with the steps toward completing a platter and various platter designs will be provided. The emphasis is on beginners and their ability to successfully turn a platter during the workshop.
Workshop Tools Needed:
- ½” to 5/8” bowl gouge
- Round nose scrapper or negative rake scrapper
- Face shield
Provided by the Club:
- Green or dry wood blanks of Big Leaf Maple cut to 9” rounds and about 2” thick
- All other tools
