About this event
The fall ornament classes are back by popular demand! John Moe will be teaching at his workshop in Bellevue with his two cohosts, Ed French and Tom Johanson. In this workshop, you will not only be making your own hollow globe and finial ornament, but you will also get to make the hollowing tools required to make the ornaments.
Wood Requirements:
2 pieces of wood 3" x 4" for the globe (figured if you want to risk it)
2 pieces 1 ½" x 1 ½" x 6 " for the finials (straight grain)
At least 1 piece 2" x 2" x 6" for one tool handle
At least 1 piece 2" x 2" x 4" for the second handle
All wood should be dry
Tool Requirements:
Super glue if on hand
A parting tool
A roughing gouge
A Spindle gouge
A face shield
Don't go buy these but if you have:
A #2 Morris taper drill chuck
A 1' x8 TPI Chuck with # 1 and/or # 2 jaws
calipers
3/8" drill bit
3/4" Forstner drill
